Well I suppose its about time I mentioned the partners for our first exchange in 2012. This exchange theme is "Little Houses". As mentioned previously we are no longer sending extras and this exchange is now only a stitched piece.

Mail out date is March 15.

Question about the extras in our exchanges

Hi Ladies

I was wondering if you would all mind not including the extras with our future 2 rounds? I've been hit by some difficult financial times and it would be helpful if we just sent out stitched pieces for our exchanges. Postage is outrageously expensive here in Canada and this would really help. If you could all leave a comment below either say "extras please" or "no extras" and then Lisa V can start to set up our next round partners.

Great minds think alike with this choice because it's exactly what I am stitching right now :) LOL. I really liked the design but didn't really know how I'd finish it and now I don't have to worry. I love, love, love this finish and already have it displayed with my other Christmas themed items. I actually had just run out of WDW Holly and Whitewash so they came in really handy! I've already got a finish in mind for the pink fabric.....I'm thinking the Country Cottage design from the same ornament issue would look great backed in this! Thanks again Lisa......you picked the perfect design for me :)

Today I received my gorgeous exchange from Angela!!! Angela stitched this design from Prairie Schooler "Song of the Season" using 32ct Mushroom Lugana and the DMC threads as charted and finished it as a flat fold. The picture does not do it justice!
She also sent me some gorgeous Christmas fabric, a butterfly themed calendar and Christmasy nail files.
Thank You so VERY much Angela for this wonderful exchange! It will be a treasured Christmas decoration in my home for years to come!

Lisa and I live in the beautiful but isolated city of Perth in Western Australia and, as it happened, we were paired for this exchange. So we agreed to meet in person for our exchange. Last Saturday 13 November we met up at my place. It was the first time I'd had the pleasure of hosting a stitching friend and it was a truly pleasurable time together. Here's what happened...

I decided to include all of our suggestions in the poll instead of just a few from each. I see that we have some duplication in our theme choices so I look forward to seeing which 2 themes will get the most votes. You can vote for more than one choice which I hope works and doesn't cause us too many tied votes :)

Can you let me all know in the comment section below when you have voted? I think other people that wander along to our blog can vote too so I want to make sure it's just us. Maybe I'll go change the settings for now.

I am really excited about seeing the pics for our first exchange! I finally got the inspiration to finish my piece for Lisa S yesterday and I'm really pleased with it so far (it's almost done).

Hi Ladies

Wow, I just realized our first mailing date is right around the corner! I have my piece stitched but I'm not too sure how to finish it and I need some inspiration quick!

Please try to have your exchange in the mail on or around the 15th so that we can all have a wonderful Christmas themed exchange that doesn't manage to get all tied up in the Christmas Post :) I'm looking forward to seeing our first round of exchanges.

We have 2 rounds scheduled for next year, one in March and one in July. We need some themes to choose from and I would like everyone to be included in this. If you could all think of 2-4 themes and post them on this blog, I will choose one from each member and create a poll for us to vote (top left of sidebar). The top 2 choices in the voting will be our themes for next year :)

I'm going to put on my thinking cap on at work today and post my themes later on tonight.

First Round "Christmas theme"

Hi Ladies

Welcome to our new blog! I am very excited that all of you have accepted to join and I am really looking forward to a great year of exchanging some really lovely gifts with one another :) Since we are such a small group, our partners will not be a secret but we can still feel free to stitch/finish a surprise for our partner that we think they will love! All of our rounds will include up to 3 extras but please make sure that the total amount isn't over $10US to keep things fair for all of us.

Our first round will be a Christmas theme and the mailing date is November 15th so that all exchanges have time to arrive for Christmas. We have members from all over the world so we need extra time for mailing :) For this round we can stitch any Christmas design and finish it in a way we think our partner would like. The extras can be Christmas or stitching related.

I will assign partners by August 15th and they will be sent in a separate email. If you have any questions please contact me as I will be the host for this round.

Welcome to our new private Stitching exchange group :) Lisa V and I came up with the idea to start a new blog to share our love of stitching with our "friends". You were personally invited to be a part of this group because you are reliable, trustworthy and talented! We will have 3 rounds per year spaced every 4 months apart and we will have different partners/themes for each round. Each exchange will include your stitched/finished piece and 3 stitching or not stitching related extras to a maximum of $10.00 US to keep each round fair for all :) The extras can include things like: floss, scissors, stitching fabric, needles, backing fabric, ribbon etc. The idea is to keep our costs down to a minimum as postage costs are becoming outrageous.

Please feel free to introduce yourself in a separate post, so that we can all get to know you better :) Please email me and let me know your likes/dislikes and I will fill in the information in the sidebar for you. Our first round will be for Christmas with a mailing date of November 15th so that we can all have our parcels in plenty of time for Christmas but more information will follow at a later date.
